He is so great that he receives praise from the King and is given the title of Thane of Cawdor. Not just anyone can go out into battle and come out victorious. Macbeth not only comes out victorious but he fights so well that he receives praise for it. This shows that Macbeth is an extraordinary man. Through his bravery in battle he is given the title of Thane of Cawdor. After Macbeth hears the prophecy that he will become king he will do anything to achieve it.
